CURRENT BURN RESTRICTIONS:
Currently Adams County and Arapahoe County has issued a burn ban on all open burns. The burn ban will take effect immediately until further notice. Those having burn permits issued by the fire department will not be able to burn until the burn ban has been lifted.
Current as of date: July 7th, 2017.
If you have a need to perform an Open Burn of any kind in the Bennett Fire Protection District, we ask that you contact our Fire Bureau prior to the event. The burn season runs from April 1st through October 31st each year.
Specially trained personnel consistently evaluate fire conditions throughout our District. While an area may visually seem safe to burn in, there may be unseen factors present that could initiate a dangerous situation.
Contact the Fire Bureau to assist in your planning, this ensures that your site and preparations are reviewed for safety, and that you have obtained a burn permit to ensure that your burn is a legal one. This also makes your job easier in that you have enlisted the aid of someone who is well versed in the current state, county, and local ordinances. Many of these ordinances can change at a moments notice, and it's our responsibility to remain alert to these changes for our citizenry.
To obtain burn permits, contact our Administrative Offices at (303) 644-3572 Monday through Friday from 8 am until 4 pm. In the event that you would like to schedule an open burn and the administrative offices are closed, please call our dispatch center, METCOM at (720) 258-8911 and they will alert the on duty crew to contact you.
